Reception photos for Cody and Arceli

My daycare provider Debbie asked me to take some pictures at the wedding reception of her son Cody and his wife Arceli. It was an informal party at the club house of an apartment complex. For me it was a challenge to figure out the lighting. The place had vaulted ceilings with spot lights. I brought my 430 EX II flash and bought a Lumiquest Softbounce to make the light coming out of the flash spread out more and less harsh. I had read some tips about what settings to use to get the best results.

Most of the pictures I took were group shots of the bride and groom with family and friends. And I took a few close-ups of cupcakes made by Lisa from Oh my Ganache cupcakes in Sherwood.

And here are some of the portraits:

About Me

I love photography. My favorite subjects are my husband and my daughter. My family calls me Photomom. I'm trying to improve my photography and photo editing skills. In the past I have focused on travel, landscapes and macros and I'm expanding my subject matter to include portraits. I've created this blog to share my photos with family and friends and to track my progress.
