Sun Gold Farm
After we got back from our camping trip on the coast, we stopped in Forest Grove to go to Sun Gold Farm for their open farm day. We have been using this farm since mid-June for our CSA (community-supported agriculture). Basically Geoff picks up a bag of fresh fruit and vegetables every week that are grown by this farm. We've been so happy to use them. It has really helped us eat more fresh produce. Plus it's great to know that our produce is grown locally without pesticides. We don't get to pick which vegetables and fruits we get, so it's been quite an adventure figuring out what to cook every week. But it's been great. We also still have a lot of cabbage and zucchini that we froze for winter.
The open day at the farm was fun. There were not a lot of people and it was drizzling a little bit. But Katie enjoyed playing on the bales of hay, sitting on the tractor, and petting the donkey. We bought some peppers that they roasted on the spot. And we took a little hay ride into the field as Charlie, one of the farm owners, told us all about the produce they'd been growing for us all season.

Peppers roasting. We bought a bag full of them and used them for making chile rellenos. It was really good.
