Woodburn Tulip Festival 2010

Last Wednesday, during the last week before Geoff started his new job, we went down to Woodburn to the annual tulip festival. This year they started charding $5 for parking during the week and $10 on the weekend, plus weekends are crazy busy, so we were lucky to be able to go during the week. We were pretty early too, around 9 am, so there weren't too many people out. The weather was perfect. There was a faint sun that kept disappearing behind some faint clouds. Most of the tulips were in bloom already, which made for a gorgeous view. Here are some of the photos I took.

Thanks! I used the 100mm f/2.8 macro lens for Canon (the non-IS version).

I'm a new follower of your blog (via the Bump) and gosh I'm in love with your work, these photos are amazing! I recently went to a Tulip festial and it was a beautiful day!

Thanks Tamara! With flower macros like these it really helps to have a good lens where you can get the aperture open to f/2.8 or so. That gives the nice out of focus background while keeping the flower in focus.
