Tanner Springs Park

On Sunday afternoon I was fortunate enough to meet up with Christina Gilchrist to shoot some photos. She brought her daughter Emma along as a model. Unfortunately Emma, who is 9, was not too enthused by this. We still had a great time though and I was able to practice my portrait photography skills.

I love Tanner Springs Park. It has a really cool art piece that is perfect for a backdrop. The weather was great and even though it was very sunny, part of the park was still in the shade. Christina taught me how to use my flash to fill in in the shade. The first picture of her, shows how I used the flash to light up her face. She was located in the shade while the sun shone on the background.

While Emma was not the most cooperative, I love this picture of her. Such vibrant colors!

Here is a cool shot of the backdrop by itself.

This is just a few blocks away from Tanner Springs park. I love the view of the old factories and the bridge in the background.

About Me

I love photography. My favorite subjects are my husband and my daughter. My family calls me Photomom. I'm trying to improve my photography and photo editing skills. In the past I have focused on travel, landscapes and macros and I'm expanding my subject matter to include portraits. I've created this blog to share my photos with family and friends and to track my progress.
